-_-;; And that's exactly why I need a beta! (One reason, anyway.) Spelling is not my strong point. So while I actually *do* know the difference between compliment and complement (when I stop and think about it), I'm not likely to catch something that doesn't have the red squiggly line beneath it (although I should have caught site/sight - just shows how hard it is to proofread your own stuff!).

The honorifics I use for a couple reasons. One, though not a very strong reason, is that I'm more used to the sub, so that's what I hear in my head. Two, the Japanese honorifics convey a lot of layers of respect and familiarity that are lost in English. It's a minor thing, but something I like to try to preserve. Like how Roy still uses an honorific with Winry, even though he's progressed to calling her by her first name. But you're right, they are out of place, especially since bringing in the characters from Xing/"China". Strictly speaking, they should be using English, since that's the language Arakawa uses for any text in the manga (even though they're geographically analogous to Germany - but I developed an explanation I can use if it ever comes up!). I have been tempted to drop them, but at this point I'd just rather not switch mid-stream.

I'm glad you're enjoying the story, though! And I really appreciate the critique :).
