All these screenshots of shirtless!Roy and I still can't muster up the motivation to watch the latest episodes of Brotherhood. It doesn't help that his physique is a little frightening - it's like Armstrong's chest was superimposed on Roy's body. I get that it's dramatic lighting and all, but really, it's not appealing. I much prefer the subtlety (in comparison) of the manga. Otherwise it looks like a dramatic scene and it's one of my favorite Roy-moments in the manga, but I can't get past the hyper-Bowflex body.

urrrgh.
If anything Roy's body and face implies a kinda chubby figure, I'll never stop saying that. I don't think he'd have love handles or anything but I can't imagine a visible six pack, not with all that desk sitting he does. Maybe when he was younger.

On one of the pictures in the art book, Arakawa comments "the colonel got fat." So yeah. I doubt it was intentional, but even the creator sees it ^^. They're not using the chubbier character design in Brotherhood, but still, the Bowflex body doesn't suit. (The guy has a desk job!)
