There's a lot of speculation that Roy is still the fifth. Bradley told Father than he was going to make Roy open the Gate; I won't be at all surprised if that comment resurfaces pretty soon now. Other people have thought Marcoh is another possibility, only if he was going to be used I'd imagine he would have been sucked in too. In my head, Roy's the only one who makes sense, even if he hasn't yet encountered the Gate. He's the only other alchemist who's powerful enough, and using him in this manner would solve several problems for the Bad Guys at once- providing the fifth sacrifice, as well as eliminating a potential political threat to their power.

The big question in my head is, how would they make Roy open the Gate? I don't buy the idea that they would kill Riza, and convince Roy to attempt human transmutation to bring her back. He knows that doesn't work, and further, that even if it did, Riza would never forgive him. So what does that leave?

And oh man- I hope Bradley is down for the count soon! Though Fuu, Buccaneer... *teardrop* I knew people were going to die, was prepared for it... but it still sucks, seeing people like that going. Who's gonna be next? I nearly freaked out when Havoc was cut down by Lust; I don't know how I'd handle one of the major characters dying, even as I know it's a real possibility. And that's one of the reasons I dig Arakawa; she doesn't shy away from those hard choices. If it serves the plot, she's gonna do it, and I'll cry, but love her anyway.

It's so exciting to see it coming to a close. But sad, too. I don't want it to end! (xxxHolic looks like it's almost done too, and that makes me a little weepy as well. Watanuki, Doumeki!! *wibbles*)
