Mustang was waiting for him; his own hand clamped around Ed’s wrist as soon as it got close. Ed stared up at him, found him smiling in a way he wasn’t used to, in a way that . . . he wasn’t sure what it meant. If you want to read my ranting about Brohood <a href="http://dragonimp.tumblr.com/tagged/dragon-rants-on-Brohood">it's all under this tag here</a>, but what I wanted to repost and share here are some thoughts about the way Ed's characterization is done in the early stories in the manga:<br /><br />I’m so used to the Ed we have later on in the series that I forget what he’s like in these early stories, but mom remarked that he comes off as rather cold in the Liore episode. At first I was thinking that because this was the first story Arakawa wrote she might not have had a good sense of their characters yet, but when I thought about Liore and Youswell together and put them against the rest of the series - I think it’s deliberate.<br /><br /><span class="cut-wrapper"><span style="display: none;" id="span-cuttag___1" class="cuttag"></span><b class="cut-open">( </b><b class="cut-text"><a href="https://dragonimp.dreamwidth.org/326347.html#cutid1">image heavy behind the cut</a></b><b class="cut-close"> )</b></span><div style="display: none;" id="div-cuttag___1" aria-live="assertive"></div><br /><br /><img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=dragonimp&ditemid=326347" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/> commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2009-05-05:298865:325577FMA Art: Moonlight, Roy/Ed, PG-132015-05-20T17:39:58Z2015-05-20T17:39:58Zpublic0For 520 day:<br /><br /><img src="http://i.imgur.com/nzz1Jbh.png"><br /><br /><span class="cut-wrapper"><span style="display: none;" id="span-cuttag___1" class="cuttag"></span><b class="cut-open">( </b><b class="cut-text"><a href="https://dragonimp.dreamwidth.org/325577.html#cutid1">implied nekked behind cut</a></b><b class="cut-close"> )</b></span><div style="display: none;" id="div-cuttag___1" aria-live="assertive"></div><br /><br /><img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=dragonimp&ditemid=325577" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/> commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2009-05-05:298865:325159FMA Fic, "The Prices We Pay," Roy/Ed, PG2015-05-19T20:11:50Z2015-05-20T01:06:40Zpublic2Whaaaat?
