Wow.

How not to respond to a review. Especially when the most negative thing in that review is that the work has technical errors that make it hard to read. This is when you thank the reviewer and go in search of an editor, not accuse the reviewer of lying and start telling people to "fuck off".

Even if the reviewer is completely off their rocker you don't do that. Not in a public space for potential readers to see.

Professionalism. It is a good thing.

... wow. I am flabbergasted. I'll admit to not being the most diplomatic person when it comes to responding to fanfic flaming, but her response is just ridiculous. And one of the commenters is right: it not only makes her look like an ass, but it adversely affects all self/small publishers.

Unbelievable.

Dude... seriously?

This chick is ridiculous.

Anne Rice, is that you? That lady needed to step away from the computer a few posts ago, aeeeii.

That's pretty sad...-_-; I got two reviews on my last fic I felt kinda bad about(mainly because I've been depressed to begin with) but I didn't take things that far. I took their critiques in stride as they were polite and helpful, and then went back and am currently reworking that chapter with their notes in mind...but really, telling them to fuck off is childish. I don't even do that when it comes to my amvs - even when they are being trolls from the start. That's just uncalled for. and it really does make her look like an idiot and low class to boot.

Yeah, it's baffling. Most of us realize that you lose your head in private, not out in a public forum like that. Not reflecting well on indie authors there,

I know, reading it is downright surreal. She just kept getting worse.

She must be channeling Anne Rice. The world doesn't need more than one of those!

[identity profile] dragonimp.livejournal.com 2011-03-30 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. In my experience, you come off much better in the end if you keep your head, even when that means stepping away and coming back to the comment later. I'm not sure what she thought she might accomplish by telling people to "fuck off" -not exactly making a strong case for "my book is great!"

Lol, real classy gal, isn't she?

[identity profile] mayracs.livejournal.com 2011-04-01 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
WOW! That was the most entertaining thing I have read in a long time. I sat there for nearly half an hour reading all the comments and taking a good ling time to laugh my ass off at each and every one. Man this made my day. That chick is f@#$-ing nuts! hahahaha Thank you for sharing! :)

[identity profile] dragonimp.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, she really takes the prize ^^;

[identity profile] dragonimp.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's a total train wreck XD I couldn't believe she kept getting worse.

It's always better to come off calm and rational, something THIS lady seems to have completely missed - she's like a caricature of a prima dona writer!
