Where are the fans?

We were all expecting a mob today for the new Harry Potter book, but so far we've only had maybe three people come pick up their holds. We're kinda baffled :/.

That's odd. We were swamped with folks at my borders. Us employees had to stay there till 3 a.m. due to the lines. Good times...

By the end of the day Sunday we still had maybe a third of the holds left. Best we can figure is that people know that the book'll be waiting for them for a week, so they're not as hyper about it as they would be at a bookstore.

Or maybe library patrons are more sane? Nah, must be something else.

I work at a library and it was mob-ville there. People just came and picked up the book and sat on the floor and read it.

I have to admit I wanted to be one of them :)

That's the kind of thing we were expecting! From what I heard the bookstores had the usual mob, so I really don't know where our patrons were. Although we started seeing copies returned as early as Monday.

My copy came in the mail last week, I only started it today. Leeeettle behind everyone else.
