I was tempted to take it and edit out the dialogue bubble... but me, mixing with Photoshop is a real good way to blow an evening. And I've got writing to do.

But I really like the coloring on this! So pretty!!

I thought about editing out the bubble, but there was too much detail and screentone. At least it works shrunk down to illegible.

Serious Roy/Maes undertones - and this is coming from someone who actually prefers them as friends. Roy is waaaaay too worked up over his "best friend's" death. Read from toward the end of 93 through 95, if you don't mind spoilers.

No shit RoyXMaes undertones--I posted the dialog from an early translation (before Franky House got its hands on it) of 95 by Tombow on my LJ and I think it reads better--but hell yes. And in Franky House's scanlation--the one most people have seen--Ed addresses Roy as "Bitch". Most of us were so jaw-dropped over over Roy's complete meltdown over Maes we missed THAT little not-so-subtle shot....

(God...Emo!Roy...damn, WHY are you so HOT??? ) That "Bring it, Bitch!" just was the biggest WTF moment ever! That was like the final comeback for every "shrimp" remark Roy has ever tossed at him. I'm sorry, but it's as if Roy's got a secret closet--even if it was only big enough for the memories of Maes--and Ed just threw the door w-i-d-e open.
And I read on another posting where Raja clarified an important point: Arakawa's firmly against Ed/Roy. Aparently she never said ANYTHING about Roy/Hughes. and I can kinda see her point. Prior to the movie where Ed is 18, he's still 'shota' in the manga....whereas Hughes is a grown man. And it was so obvious that he was actively avoiding Gracia--Hawkeye had to literally drive him there herself.
Dear god---is Riza Hawkeye a...gasp...FAG HAG???? (hey, I've been called a FH more times than I could count...and laughed it off.). Actually, I've always fantasied that she was getting it on with Olivier---now THAT would be a Yuri couple that could spark my interest....

I know, I'm tempted to download the raws and look up the kanji, but I'd probably miss the nuances. From the translation binary posted earlier, I suspect this scanlator took liberties, but who cares - that was so perfect!
