I have now been to my first anime convention! It's like a Star Trek convention, only with anime ^_^. I cosplayed Ranma-chan.

The con was a lot of fun. I spent most of the time in the dealers' room, and consiquently missed the screenings, but next year I'll be more organized. I got stopped several times for photo ops, once for a video, and once by a girl asking for a hug ("Oo, Ranma! Can I hug you??" "Um, sure"). I spent just over a hundred dollars on merchendice. The 4 Fruits Basket anime disks was most of that. I also bought a Fruits Basket manga and some pockey.

I got to play Dance Dance Revolution for the first time. There was an actual game setup outside in the mini arcade, but this one was free. It was set up by a company selling the game and accessories as a demonstration. I did terrible, but it was fun.

"Koga" here seemed a little suprised when I insisted her bag of holding be in the picture ;).

"Hey, 'Sango'! 'Ranma-chan' wants your picture!" one of her friends said ^^. This is one of the best costumes I saw. For one thing, no shiny or excessivly lightweight fabric. For another, the hiraikotsu(sp?) doesn't look cheesy. And the little Kirara is adorable, of course. I thought about buying one there myself. I might have, if I hadn't spent $100 on anime.

"Ryoga" said Hi to me as we were walking in. Took me a moment to figure out why a random guy was talking to me ^_^;. Then we photographed each other, and some random stranger asked to photograph both of us.

Other photos:
Who wouldn't want a giant box of Pocky!
Ukyo, Ranma's "cute" fiancee.
One of the Sesshoumarus that was wandering around.
Miroku; another really good costume.
Kenshin.
Sailor Merchery. Cute costume.
People playing a variation of duck duck goose: ninja ninja (something). I could never hear the last word.
What convention are we at again...?
Me again.

Those are only some of the cool costumes and people I saw there. There were a number of Vash, including one whose coat actually looked like red leather, instead of red fabric. I also saw a couple of Hatsuharu, at least one Team Rocket, a Happosai, and a number of cool costumes I couldn't identify. There was also a fan art gallery, which anyone could put work up as long as they paid $15 for a 4' x 4' space. Next year I plan to put work up.
