dragonimpAaaaarrgh people! No matter what size your image is while you're working on it, on the Web it will display at 72 dpi! This means that the nice 8"x11" scan you have? If you keep it at 300 dpi, it will display at over 2000 pixels. And just so you know, that's a wee bit big for most monitors.
