dragonimp: (inuyasha)

Okay, I'm still waiting to be impressed. Because that - whatEVER the hell that was - did not impress me.

Since they made such a big deal about using the manga story line, I had hoped they'd stick a little closer to the manga. Not that - that mess they're trying to pass off as storytelling.

I've commented elsewhere--this is like a bad case of Highlander Syndrome--take a good movie/show and sequel it to death. I was hoping Rose would turn that gun on Cornello...and then on herself...damn...And Tucker is next week. Bet ya Maes'll be dead by Ep 6....

This episode did feel really rushed, though I have the feeling they're trying to hurry through all the stuff we've seen before (especially this part of the story). I'm still going to hold off judgement until we're at least 10 or so episodes in XD

At this point, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. Since not only are they rushing through the early story, they appear to be skipping over anything that's not "necessary" (Youswell and the train). If they'd actually stuck to the storyboard the manga provides, these first episodes would have been similar to the first anime, but fans would have been kept happy for hours picking out all the subtle differences. And the story would have made sense. Instead we get a rushed story line and mediocre storytelling.

As rushed as the first two episodes felt, at least the story held together. They rushed this so much they cut out essential bits. Like, why Ed created a second door when there was a perfectly good door 5 feet away. And on top of that, they added superfluous elements, like Cornello transforming himself into - whatever that was. It's a shame that their desire to rush has caused the storytelling to be crap.
