Brotherhood ep. 9

They finally did it. They gave us a good episode that didn't center around an action sequence (the sparring match doesn't count, it wasn't the central focus). There were things that were cut out, like Winry and Hughes shopping and Winry fixing the toy mouse, but their absence didn't detract from the story. And for once, there's something I'm glad they cut: Ed's "wow she's cute"/"OMG she's not cute at all" mood swing. I always hated that part. 1)It says that a girl can only be cute if she's submissive; 2)It grates against Ed's character. It was Arakawa getting her shoehorn out and saying "you WILL be a stereotypical couple, dammit!" So I'm glad it's gone. Now, everyone teasing Ed about Winry, that was great.
Ed and Al both broke my heart in this episode. They're such boys - "we will bottle things up, then work things out by fighting - THEN we'll talk!" I love those two.
I hope Funimation works things out and starts hosting the episodes again - I really want to watch this one with better subtitles.
Gaaahhh dreading the next episode, though - it better be done well.
