Huzzah! Huzzah! Hooray for the sheepskin and all you accomplished!
And I know what you mean about the novel--mine was supposed to be out and done in 2004 and I was 500 pages into the final draft....and something...happened. I took a break from it and when I came back and gave it a good, hard look I realized that I didn't really feel it anymore. I haven't touched it in three years. I don't consider it a failure, though--actually it was a fantastic excercise. I'm about to start work on the REAL book project--a fictionalized acct of my ancestors, who were Spiritualists (psychics who conducted seances and allegedly talked to ghosts) and card readers on one side and crazy Irish Cajun Catholics on the other. The sneak chapters that I've released in the past got good reviews, so maybe the original novel project was needed to show me I -could- do it.
