another site backend update

Updated my portfolio to run on php - yeah, I'm having just a little too much fun with this. It was a lot harder than it sounds, though, this page gave me a number of problems. I also updated the artwork a bit, though there wasn't much more to put up; what little art I've been doing lately has mostly been fanart. (There's nothing there that isn't up at PaperDemon or dA.)

(The point of all this is that if someone asks me about coding in an interview, I can point to these sites. That's the excuse, anyway.)

^_^ Thanks! I just wish I had more recent work to put up ... sadly I don't think fanart would fly.

Do you have any idea how wonderfully talented you are? To be able to write such terrific fanfics AND to be able to paint and draw so well? I for one have zero drawing/painting skills. None whatsoever. I can't even concieve of how you get a pencil or pin or tablet stylus to take a simple line and turn it into anything vaguely recognizable. That's why I am such of fan of fanart and spend all my money in the Artists Alley at cons. And I so treasure the Ed/Roy portrait you did for me--in fact it hangs in a place of honor in my bedroom because it always makes me smile!

It means a lot to me that you enjoy the picture ^_^. Being able to give art to people is one of best things about this gift.

Believe me, I don't take any of it for granted, I've had too many moments where I feared I might lose it to wrist and hand pain. That I can draw and paint at all without wanting to curl up in a ball of misery is a blessing. I need to bash on the medical system so I can find a treatment that works so I don't have to limit myself so much.

We each have our talents, though, and to be honest, I'm more than a little envious of your music. I love music and I've taken several instruments, and I was always decent-but-not-great (I was best at piano, but 1. we don't have one, and 2. piano playing can be hard on the hands), and I can't write songs at all. You did prompt me to get my guitar back out, though, and I rediscovered how much fun even the simple little pieces are. So don't ever think you haven't given anything back, I love your filk pieces, and in a way you've helped bring back my love of music!
