Aug. 25th, 2008 07:09 pmClasses were supposed to have started today, why have I not gotten any communication from the professor...? This is both confusing and a bit worrisome.
Been swinging into the doldrums a bit too much lately, going to try to focus a bit more on the positive. Like - homegrown peaches. Store bought peaches taste like cardboard. The ones from the farmer's market are better but not wonderful. But last week our neighbor brought us a bag full of peaches and another of apples. These are real peaches. The kind where the peel virtually falls off and the juice runs down your hand. And the taste...! These were picked very ripe, and we've been working very hard not to lose any, but trust me, we don't need any encouragement. The apples are very good, too; the neighbor expressed some dislike, but we think she might have been expecting something more like red delicious. These are pippins.
So, homegrown fruit, one of the joys of summer.
