Lunakitty has pancreatitis.

We took her to the vet yesterday on a sort of emergency run, but she's probably been suffering for a while. We have to give her subcutaneous liquid, antibiotics, antacids, and some pain killers, which I may forgo depending on how she's acting. She was happy to eat yesterday if she could lick it off my finger, which is a lot better than the disinterest in food she'd had over the last couple days, and she's drinking water now. She's been much more herself today, which is encouraging.

I just wish we'd noticed sooner. I feel so bad about that.

*hugs* At least it's treatable, and now she's on the mend :D

::hugs tightly:: Most important is to keep her well hydrated. I've done that Sub-Q fluid thing a million times and while its not fun for anyone it will give her the best fighting chance. If she's showing interest in food that is excellent. I'll keep both of you in my thoughts. I've nursed dogs through it and while cats are more delicate love and a fighting spirit make a big difference!

Thanks. She's definitely doing better today and has more of an appetite, so that's encouraging. I think she doesn't want to talk to me now after the sub-Q ^^; but she is improving.

Well, it's good that you noticed at all, take comfort in that. Esp. since some animals are half-dead before they let on something is wrong. :-/

I'm glad she's better. <3

True, they hide things really well. And in this case, it's not unusual for her to curl up somewhere and not emerge all day, so it took us a while to realize that this was different. I'm just glad it's something treatable.

Awww, I'm really sorry to hear that! I have a kitty too so I know how it is. When the monkey gets sick I'm all ;_; It's hard not to blame yourself, but try not to... it's just the way it happens. *hugs to you and your kitty*

Thanks... Objectively they're such a hassle, but they're so, so worth it. And I can't help but feel for them when they're out of sorts.

I'm so sorry to hear that she is ill, but glad things seem to be improving.

Thanks... she's definitely feeling better. Getting stubborn about swallowing her pills, but feeling better ^^;
