dragonimp: (WTF??)

Okay y!gallery, what the hell. That's twice in a row that an item of mine has been "reported and hidden pending abuse moderation" within moments of me submitting it. Is someone determined to keep me off the front page or something? If either of them had actually been violations (or borderline) that'd be one thing, but this is ridiculous.

Update: "This submission is a violation of the site's Terms of Service Rule #9a. Do not submit works that contain any of the following issues without first fixing them:

(o) Wrinkling or crumpling of the paper "

Seriously??

That's part of why I hate Y gallery. I found this Roy/Ed comic in there that I adore but the artist cant uploud one of the pics.. Because it has RIA IN IT! Hell it is not no het comic, Riza is reading a report or doing work (it's beeen a while) there's not even a het hint! But they have NO WOMEN rule (I have no idea if it applies to fics or just pics so I just say NO WOMEN in general thing for right now) What if the woman gets the guys together? well guess it won't be on y!gallery.. I really do not like that site >

Is it alright to post work that may not be in agreement with all of the rules of the Terms of Service as long as it is part of a larger whole?

This is OK in certain circumstances.

If you have, for example, one page of a 10-page comic or an addendum for a story that contains a woman as a prominent character, it's nearly always fine. Panels or pages that consist solely of landscapes, animals, or gender unspecific body parts (such as hands, eyes, etc), are also allowed so long as the overall focus of your sequential work is on a male character(s).

Be nice if they read their own FAQ, wouldn't it?

But they also say somewhere that it's not the ratio of men to women, it's the focus of the picture that matters, but I've seen them reject pictures because "there were as many women as men."

This one apparently had "wrinkling or crumpling of the paper" - I had to stare at it really hard to figure out what they were talking about.

It would. I just knew there was some NO WOMEN thing there and yes it is yaoi and not het or yuri gallery but that does take it a bit far. And wrinkling of paper? WTF does that do anything wrong? O.o I swear the mods make up some chalf ass rules and full on BS all the time >< Good luck with it! I log in once in while so I can still at the few Greed/Ed I found on there XD

There's a line in their TOS under "Objective Quality of the Work" about "Wrinkling or crumpling of the paper that detracts from the drawing". I get that they don't want you to submit something that looks like it was shoved into the bottom of a backpack, but I hadn't even noticed the wrinkling until I got that message. And it's an INK WASH. The paper is going to freakin' wrinkle, water kinda does that.

I played with the levels and I think it hides it, but if that doesn't get by them, I really don't care anymore. It's up at PaperDemon and dA (as much as dA is annoying me at the moment). Y!gal is the red-headed stepchild of art galleries, I like their clubs feature but that's about it.

Whoever modded that must have better eyes than me when it comes to wrinkled paper, that's all I can figure -_-;;
