I went ahead and accepted the invite to join the Resembool Rangers group just for the hell of it. Bu-uut then I went and looked at their rules:

5: We don't accept Male/Male or Female/Female Relationship Art.
We're not discriminating against anyone, please don't take offense. Vic and us Rangers are totally accepting of homosexuals and lesbians, Vic has openly stated this. Evidence here. ^_^

Yeah, okay, I had already guessed it wouldn't be a yaoi-friendly group, but this seems kinda hypocritical. "We're not discriminating, we just don't want it here! We totally accept you, just not your art!" I think I'd be bothered less if they wanted to stick to the canon couples or something. Something tells me I'm going to be filtering them out before long.

And fandom, refresh my memory, but I seem to recall Vic being hostile to yaoi pairings with "his" characters in the past? But he says here that he had NO IDEA where people would get this impression and it MUST be because he's Christian.

I dunno, I think the BS in that rule might deserve some f-bombs. And that video. I would LIKE to take him at face value there, but past actions kinda contradict it.

I *am* curious as to whether or not they accept non-canon het couple art, assuming (and hoping) their stipulations are canon-based. If they do, then omfg. That's blatant discrimination and they can take their so-called acceptance and .

I wondered about that, too. The small section of their gallery I looked at didn't have much pairing art, and what it did have was Ed/Win. But they don't say anywhere. I'm gona kinda be watching, for as long as I can stand to.

I'm thinking they must not have, because it is kinda dripping with Roy/Ed. Though now I have a welcome comment on my front page from one of the admins, so who knows. I almost want to tell them that I, uh, won't be having much that fits their criteria there.

Yeah, it's ... weird. I don't really care if they request the one or two pieces that they think fit, but the invite was ... odd, especially after seeing that rule.
