I went to the local jewelers today to get the battery in my watch replaced. When the lady came back out she had the front of the watch open (just finished setting the time, I think), and was looking at it with a really puzzled expression on her face. She finally asked, "What does it mean, 'Don't forget 3 Oct. 10'?"

Heh ^^. Then comes the fun of trying to explain enough without getting into too much and getting the blank stare in return. The shop owner has kids and at least knows what anime is, but I think the lady who worked on my watch was completely lost.

*grins* I can only imagine the look on her face. *snickers* Poor deprived souls. I had to explain it to my mother at one point. She was all like O_o. It's always interesting explaining the Flamel and Transmutation circles that I have on my purse/bag/thing and the jewelry I wear to my Bible-thumping relatives. My aunt just stared at me and said that she would put me on her prayer list. *chuckles* I'm pretty sure that she doesn't want to know that Ed's an atheist (or at the very least agnostic...), and while I'm at it, I'll leave out the fact that my husband is too.... *hides under desk*

I had one guy ask me if the flamel on my coat was a gnostic cross. And then five minutes later someone asked me if it was a necromancer jacket. The gnostic cross I get, but necromancer? There's obviously a reference there I'm not getting c_c.

I have an uncle who's a minister and I'm already on his prayer list because I don't go to church. I didn't even get into the fact that I'm not Christian, it was bad enough that I didn't go to a physical church. I can't imagine what he'd think of my flamel...

Luckily my mom loves FMA, so that's at least one relative I don't have to worry about ^_^

*snickers* I was raised Christian, but the older I get and the more I read into it... *sigh* Stupid idiots that are in it for the money and glory. *shakes head* Plus, organized religion, especially Christian doctrines, have a tendency to be more about getting money than actually telling you anything of value. So I have always found that I prefer to study on my own, rather than sit through stupid sermons. My aunt just doesn't understand that. (And, of course... Clay isn't Christian at all. ^__^ I think he'd probably like the Buddhist doctrines a lot more. *grins* My aunt would love that, wouldn't she? LOL)

My mom watched the first part of it, but when they killed Hughes, she was out. ~_~

I don't get necromancer either... okay, maybe the gnostic cross, but... O_o Some people are awfully strange.
