Good news for writers, Scrivener for Windows is coming! This is an excellent writing program and I've raved about it before so I won't repeat myself, but up to now its main drawback has been that it's Mac only. The folks at Literature and Latte have been working hard at changing that and they're almost ready to go into beta!

Seriously, ficcers, give this program a look. It's not that expensive (much cheaper than Word!) and it was designed by a writer to work the way writers think. Personally, I adore it.

(Okay, I'm done gushing now.)

If you click on the "scrivener" tag you'll see my past rambles, and a few screenshots. The best part about it for me is the way it lets you organize scenes and snippets without having them scattered all over the hard drive or glommed together in one massive text file, but it's also the only thing that's ever let me do any semblance of outlining.

Oh wow, that would be reason enough. I'm constantly jotting down random sentences or thoughts while I'm writing. (I've also got a purse full of scraps of papers with story ideas, lines, scenes, etc. >.<)

Thanks for letting us know!
I actually didn't know about this program before, but it looks pretty awesome :D I'm actually considering giving it a go. Though I'm not sure how much of all those extra options I'll actually use it's always neat to have them at hand (and it might actually get me to work on my semi-original project with all the OC's... *is bad with OC's*)

I don't use all of the features myself, but the nice thing about Scrivener is that the features you don't use stay out of the way, instead of popping up and being "helpful" like Word. And the features I *do* use are extremely helpful ^_^.
