Aaaaarrgh people! No matter what size your image is while you're working on it, on the Web it will display at 72 dpi! This means that the nice 8"x11" scan you have? If you keep it at 300 dpi, it will display at over 2000 pixels. And just so you know, that's a wee bit big for most monitors.

Why is this such a hard concept for some people?

I actually think art sites should do more to explain this little detail to people for just that reason, but even on ones that have size limits I still find huge pictures. What I'm really not understanding is how people don't see this and go "hmm, why is pic uploading so ginormous?"
