LJ wants us to know that our complaints are being listened to. Well, they're being "aggregated" and then they'll be "reviewed" by the "appropriate project teams." My understanding* is that there were plenty of complaints before this went live and they were ignored. I don't have high hopes.

*I don't speak Russian so can't read the developer(s) blogs, I'm going by what others have translated/interpreted.

Edit: I've been reading through the comments about this on f!s and can add myself to the list of people getting eye strain XP. Who thought cyan on white was a good idea??

Did you read that 10,000 Dreamwidth accounts were created today? In less than twenty-four hours? Ouch.

You know, the more I read through this hot mess, the more it actually bugs me, as in my EYES. I don't know if it's the colors or the font or a mix of both, but I don't like it at all.

I did a Google translate on some of the things that were supposedly said and it seems more or less to be valid. I think I'm actually more upset about that than the rest of it. Change is usually inevitable, whether we like it or not. Douchebag attitudes towards users, PUBLIC ones at that, are unacceptable.

Judging by the comments on f!s and elsewhere it's giving a lot of people migraines. The old default color scheme wasn't wonderful but at least it wasn't causing problems.

The attitudes are what's bothering me the most, too. It's a pretty clear message of "We're going to do what we want and to hell with the rest of you." There's been a big outcry of what no we need that functionality! but it doesn't seem like they care.

I don't believe it.

I don't either. The English-speaking team might care, but the Russian parent company and engineers are another story.

They are as bad as facebook. (my friend HATES the sidebar thing that shows what you are doing on there all the time. because there are 2 guys who now know when she is on and WILL bother her and she doesn't like it. yes she can still block them but regardless, in this matter, fb was fail and stupid) There was no reason for lj to change but they did and they are well, damn well fucking stupid for it. there was no reason to take out te subject line in comments

I guess someone thought the subject lines were "ugly". The fact that people and communities use them doesn't seem to matter.

LJ seems to be trying to turn into FB which is really annoying!

It's so fail in so many ways >_<. Design, usability, function - and listening to the users.

I just read that it fails to meet the Americans with Disabilities requirements, too.
