I'm not going to get anymore work done tonight, so I may as well.
Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] rainjoyous:

The one who seduced you and fucked you over and broke your heart in a million pieces and laughed about it:
Harry Potter. Adored the first three books, spent several years in the fandom. And then ... the fifth book came out. The seventh was good in its own right, but not quite enough to get rid of the "WTF??" aftertaste of #5 and #6.

The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets:
Elfquest. My first huge fandom love. I RPed in fan "holts" during AOL's heyday, I had an EQ Mary Sue (do not ask for details I will not admit to them), the comic store came to know me by name. The recent material doesn't do it for me in quite the same way, but I go back to the original quest and I'm lost all over again.

The mysterious dark gothy one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 a.m. at weird coffeehouses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized he really was fucking crazy:
The animated Batman series(s). The Batman/Superman ones left me a bit "WTF?" a few times, though.

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor, and whom you'd still really like to fuck again although you're relieved he doesn't actually live in town:
Probably Cowboy Bebop. Loved the series, but I'm kinda afraid to see it through to the end.

The steady:
Fullmetal Alchemist. The anime stole my heart and my soul, the manga still manages to rip my heart (back) out, fling it around, and leave me begging for more.

The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with:
Ruroni Kenshin, Trigun, Hellsing.

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with but ultimately you're just good buddies 'cause the friendship is there but the chemistry ain't:
Naruto. I picked up the manga on a slow day at work, then found some scanlations online and happily sat for hours. And then ... happily didn't come back. If I opened it up again I'd probably waste several more hours, but there's no buring desire to do so.

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool guy except it's never really gone anywhere:
There's probably several, but I'll say Full Metal Panic. I liked the plot, but couldn't quite deal with the comedy bits.

The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at him and thinking, "Him? How the hell did he land all these cool babes?":
This is a hard one, I can usually find something in even the strangest or cheesiest stuff, but probably CSI-type shows.

The one who gave you the best damned summer of your life and who you measure all other potential partners against:
Elfquest. Gargoyles. Fullmetal Alchemist. FMA stands a bit higher than the other two for not diminishing in quality, but if I'm being honest, I have to name all three. They each owned me at one point or another.
