Doldrum cynic

There's a very cynical part of me that's been saying "obviously the only thing people really want to see from you is fanfic. Not original stuff. Not art of any kind." And I'm trying really, really hard not to listen to that voice. Because it's not really fair, and because it really shouldn't matter. Except it means I'm not posting art to the communities anymore, because it's not worth the mess it makes of my mood.

I really don't know why I'm in such a crap mood right now.

You wouldn't be human if random things didn't get to you from time to time. We all have egos that can and do get injured by the strangest things, especially if we're feeling vulnerable. There is nothing in the world wrong with looking for affirmation. It's funny that, in some ways, the internet can connect us with the world, but in other ways, it can make it feel like you're shouting into a void. Just remember to believe in yourself and take pleasure in the things that you enjoy. Okay, enough greeting card sentimentality. Hang in there, kiddo!

If something bothered me and then I was done with it that would be one thing, but I keep getting bothered again and again by the same thing. That's the part I wish I knew how to turn off. I want to be done with this. These. But thank you, though. I do appreciate it, a lot.
