Post holidays

I swear you guys post extra when I take a few days "off". It may take me a while to catch up with everything ^^;.
Holidays are over, yay. No, they actually went pretty well this year, I can't really complain. Except to wish we'd had more time to prepare. Like, I dunno, not having to clean out the garage at the same time. But that's done, too. We have a new garage door, and the dryer is delivered and installed (not the washer, but that's a different story). Now I'm hoping to get back on track with the things I want to accomplish. Preferably before the next semester starts looming too oppressively (senior project DX).
My sister-in-law was looking through my paintings - I don't remember how it came up - and told me I "totally have to paint something like that for the new house."
So I told her, "you can have those."
"Really??"
"Yes, really. Take them."
"Really??"
"They're sitting in a closet! Go put them on your walls!"
She sort of squee'd off and on for the rest of the day ^^. It was pretty flattering. What I find funny, though, is that of the ones she picked, two were ones I didn't really care for, one was a monoprint from my Dominican days, and the fourth is so large I didn't think I would ever be able to do anything with it. So I'm more than happy that they're getting use and really glad she likes them so well. Although it was amazing how much better one of the pieces looked once it was matted and framed (it's still not one of my favorites, though).
JourneyEd has Painter X (I think X) for an incredibly good price. I keep getting torn between "omgWANT!!" and the memory of the last time I drew on the computer (omgPAIN!!). I only have one more semester to get these incredibly good deals, but at the same time I feel like I should wait until I know it's something I'll be able to use. Decisions...
